I am 45 years old and have always loved traveling,adventure and people.I have worked for the probation service and youth offending service all my life and have a huge commitment to supporting people. I have always wanted to make a difference in the world, no matter how small and began voluntary work in my early teens.I have done a lot of traveling and did a round the world trip in 2005-2006.I wanted to do something different and Gav and I decided that driving ourselves would be a huge adventure and this site covers our adventures with Ruby. We plan to drive Ruby around the world in 2016, commencing in South America.

Gavin

I am 43 years old and love music, rugby, cooking and traveling. I work in I.T as a manager. I am the practical and sensible one of the two of us! I met Jen just before her round the world trip in 2005 and joined her in Brazil for a few weeks in 2006. We have since had some great adventures together-including the Tran Siberian railway, doing some wonderful hikes summiting Kilimanjaro, walking the Annapurna Circuit and  ascending Mount Toubkal. Overlanding really appeals to both of us and I have learnt a lot from prepping for our trip and from our shorter trips.

Ruby

Ruby is a wonderful Land Rover Defender 300tdi 110 county station waggon aged 20 years.We bought her from a local Land Rover garage, Jake Wright, and she was the first and only landy we looked at! She has taken us to France, the Outer Hebrides, the Lakes and Morocco but she is now ready for a much greater adventure.
